 Alfred Adams

ALFRED LEE ADAMS was an All-County, All-State hurdler for Atkins High School in 1968-69. In addition to running the high hurdles, Adams also ran a leg on the championship relay team. Adams was recruited by and matriculated at Winston-Salem State University. While at WSSU, Adams trained under Elias Gilbert, an Olympic hurdler and former world-record holder in the high hurdlers.

 

Adams was voted the outstanding track team member in 1972-73 while becoming an All-American in the 440 hurdles.

 

Adams presently enjoys family life with his spouse and children when he can find leisure away from his professional responsibilities at the Optional Education Center, the Juvenile Detention Center and the Lakeside Family Y.M.C.A.
